Filing SSF reports
After registration, SSFs file regularly with the FEC. Those reports are made available in the campaign finance data section of this website.
How to file
Some committees are required to file electronically. All other committees can choose whether to file electronically or by paper.
What to file
SSF filing requirements differ in election and non-election years. Election years are even-numbered years. Other filing requirements may also apply if a committee is active in a special election.
Some forms are offered as both a webform and a PDF. With the exception of mandatory electronic filers, SSFs can choose whether to file electronically or by paper. Committees that voluntarily electronically file must continue to do so for the remainder of the calendar year.
A committee’s obligation to file regular financial disclosure reports continues until the committee requests to terminate and that request is approved by the FEC.
